How can I set up a prayer campaign?

You could start by creating a keyword like PRAYER or PRAY that people could text to your church's number. Then, under Keyword Workflow, click + Step to add actions. You can create a workflow to have your subscribers join a prayer list, get daily reminders, and even follow up with your prayer team.

Here are a few ideas of how you can use steps in your prayer campaign:

  • Use the Collect Name & Email step and a branch to make sure you have all your subscribers' information before they join your prayer campaign.

  • Use Send Text to create daily prayer reminders and add a Wait step to schedule them for certain days of the week. You can even include links to Scripture, a note with a daily devotional, or a video with a devotional/prayer from a different staff member each day.

  • Select the Add to List step to add your members to your prayer list, so it's easy to contact them in the future or have your prayer team follow up with them later.

  • At the end of your workflow, you could add the Transfer to Workflow step to send your subscribers to a monthly follow-up workflow asking for prayer requests.

  • If you have a prayer ministry subaccount, you can use the Transfer to Subaccount step at the end of the workflow in your main account. This will send your subscribers to your prayer team's subaccount so they can easily follow up with your people.

You can create prayer campaigns to encourage your congregation to pray together over a week, 21-day fast, or month leading up to Easter or Christmas. Check out this example of a week-long prayer campaign πŸ‘‡

On Sunday morning, you could announce the prayer campaign and encourage members to join by texting PRAYEARLY to 94000. When your people text your keyword, they'll opt in to the campaign and start receiving the automated messages at their scheduled times.
