Why can't I use Bitly and other public link shorteners?

Unfortunately, links generated by public link shorteners like Bitly and TinyURL are automatically blocked by wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc.).

These link shorteners are frequently used by scammers to send malicious links. As a result, wireless carriers block texts that include Bitly links to protect their customers from receiving spam texts. If you want to send shortened links in your texts, you'll need to use a branded link shortener. But you're in luck!

At Clearstream, we offer a built-in branded link shortener with any account. It's free, easy to set up, and it allows you to track clicks, so you can know how many people clicked on your link.

You can create a branded link shortener by going to Settings > Short Links.
