What is a custom domain?

Learn about Clearstream's custom link shortener domain

Written by Abbey Senesi

When you're sending a text and you include a link, you can use Clearstream's URL shortener to instantly shorten it. And with our Custom Domain Add-On, you can fully brand your link shortener using your own domain.

How does the Custom Domain Add-On work?

Regardless of your plan, every church gets a free URL shortener to shorten links and track link clicks.

By default, you can use your church's name or something else as the subdomain. But your link will also include Clearstream's domain: cls.co. You're also limited to choosing from the domains that are available on our shared domain.

But with Clearstream's Custom Domain Add-On, it won't include cls.co, and you can choose a new, fully custom domain, like grace180.com.

Why should I use a custom domain?

  • Keeps your branding consistent, from your website and socials to your shortened links sent over text

  • Helps prevent wireless carriers (like T-Mobile and Verizon) from blocking texts that include shortened links

  • Creates trust and builds your organization's reputation since your domain isn't shared with other churches

How do I set up the Custom Domain Add-On?

If your plan doesn't include the Custom Domain Add-On, you can add it to any plan for only $10/month! Just log in to your account and go to Settings > Short Links.
