If your church uses a shortcode (5-digit number), you will likely still want to create a longcode (10-digit number) to be used as a fallback option when sending messages. This ensures the highest possible delivery rate for your messages.

When syncing a list from Planning Center or importing an Excel file, a few of your contacts may have short code texting blocked with their wireless plan (often unbeknownst to them). If you have a long code created in your account, contacts that can't receive your short code messages will be sent your message through your long code. We handle this automatically, as long as you have a long code created. To create a long code, go to your Settings > SMS > Create Long code.
