If you already have a list of contacts you want to text, you can easily upload it using a CSV or Excel file. This is a great way to transfer contacts from a database or an event sign-up.
Before importing any list, it's important to make sure the list is up-to-date and that you have permission to text everyone on the list. If you have questions on this, reach out to us in chat or check out Importing Guidelines.
How should I format the file?
File must be saved as a CSV or Excel document.
The first row should be a header row with columns named: Mobile, First, Last, Email, and Tags. Only the Mobile column is required.
Most phone number formats are accepted (123-456-7890, 1234567890, +12345678900, etc.)

How do I upload the file in Clearstream?
Click Subscribers (left menu) > Add Subscribers (far right) > Import CSV/Excel.
Upload your file and share how you received permission to text the numbers on your file.
When will my import be approved?
Most imports are approved automatically, but larger files may require manual review. During our business hours (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm), imports should be approved in less than an hour. On the weekends or after hours, this time may be longer.
Things to Note
Each subscriber must have a mobile number. Contacts that don't have a phone number on your file will not be imported into Clearstream.
There is flexibility with the header row. If your CSV file has a Phone Number or Phone or Mobile Number column, that will be used if Mobile is not present.
When importing, you can add tags in step 3 rather than adding them to your actual file.
