How do I create a new subaccount?

Learn how to add a subaccount to your Clearstream account

Written by Michael Lepinay

A subaccount is a separate account managed by your main account that has its own inbox, number, subscriber list, and users. Your subaccount's monthly credit allocations, plan, and billing are overseen by your main account.

To see how many subaccounts your plan is allotted, check out our pricing here — or reach out to us in the chat for more info about individual subaccount pricing.

Subaccounts are great for giving your ministries (i.e., youth group, women's or men's groups, prayer teams) their own space to communicate with your church members apart from your church's main account.

Create a Subaccount

To create a new subaccount, you'll need to log in to your main account as an owner or admin.

  1. Go to the Settings page from the left menu, then click Subaccounts.

  2. Click Create Subaccount.

  3. Name your new subaccount. Then, click Add Users.

  4. Enter an existing user's email, or invite a new one. Choose their role and click Save.

  5. Choose how many credits you want your subaccount to have each month: Unlimited or Fixed.

Selecting Unlimited will allow your subaccount to share all your main account's credits (i.e., 1,000 credits, 2,500 credits, etc.).

If you choose Fixed Monthly Amount, enter how many credits you want the account to receive each month on your billing date under Monthly Credit Allotment. If your billing date is a ways out, you can allocate some credits now under Starting Credit Balance.

  6. Next, enter your area code and choose your subaccount's phone number.

  7. If your main account uses a short code, you can choose whether you want your subaccount to use it as well.

  8. Click Create Subaccount.

Congratulations — your new subaccount is now active! You can edit your subaccount or add more credits by clicking on its name or by clicking the ⋮ icon, then Edit.
